Just a quick recap of my 2nd ride on my new bike. On Tuesday night, we went to Target and on the way back, we took Spriggs home. I noted that from Hoadly to 234 is about 5 miles. There was a nice bike patch along most of Spriggs, so I thought it would be a good place to ride.
So I set out down Dale Blvd, onto Hoadly and eventually down Spriggs. I made my way down Spriggs till I got about 1/2 a mile from Minnieville Road. I only found this out when I looked at my route on iMap My Ride. Had I known I was that close, I would have continued till I got to Minnieville. Anyway, I turned back when I hit Riverside Park and made it back to the house.
There were some descent climbs which were a whole lot easier to handle on the new bike. Most I was able to do in 2nd gear. Some of the longer climbs I slipped into 1st gear. I was scared too go too far from the house, fearing I wouldn't be able to make it back. In hind site, I don't think that is a problem. I never came anywhere close to feeling tired to the point where I was exhausted. I stopped once briefly to check how far I had gone and to take a few sips of iced tea.
