I got a nice ride in on the new bike last night. A few weeks back, I rode my old bike along the same route. At the time, I didn't realize the bike pad was stuck. So I barely made it 3 miles. And when I was finished, my legs felt like lead. Last night I took the same route, and it was SO much easier. I'm sure the sticking brake pad on the old bike was a factor, but I also found a HUGE difference in the low gears. I was able to go up hills really quickly on the new bike and felt like I had a lot of power underneath me when doing so. I primarily kept the bike in 2nd gear and switched the right shifter between 1 and 4 depending if I was on flat ground or an incline. So much nicer and a much more pleasurable ride.
