A slight delay...

Got derailed a bit this week. On Sunday night, we took Max swimming at the Webers. On the ride home, the skies opened up and a wicked thunderstorm rolled through. When we got home, we discovered we had no power at the house. Max was excited/nervous that the lights were out, and wouldn't go to sleep. Rachel took him up to his room at around 9:00, but he kept playing with the flashlight, asking about his nightlight etc. The power remained off till about midnight. So I never got my run in.

Monday, I got a massive headache, and went to bed early. Plus with all the people lighting fireworks, I wouldn't have felt comfortable running anyway. However, on Tuesday, I headed out. First thing I noticed was that the extra 2 days off really helped. My legs, and Achilles in particular felt great.

I ran down towards Tango and then turned out onto Dale Blvd. I kept running along Dale Blvd until I hit about 1.5 miles total. Then I turned around and headed back towards home. All in all I felt pretty good. I did make two brief stops. I think I felt so good, that I was running way too fast. I stopped for no more than a minute each time.

When I got back home, I was dripping wet. I didn't wear a wicking shirt, just a plain cotton t-shirt. It seemed to soak up my sweat like a sponge. It felt great going out and running again. I actually missed it. I'm very tempted to do the 10 min run 1 min walk X 4 as part of Bridge to 10k. I think I can do that pretty easily. I think I can actually do the whole 10k system already. I'll see how I feel tonight and if I feel good, I may try the first week of Bridge to 10k.
